First non-scale goal before surgery!

Recommended Posts

Okay, so since I'm reaching the point of almost 40 lbs down I haven't seen any bodily results. It's been very frustrating. Today I put on a scrub top before going into work and they have always been just a little snug. As I was working i looked down and noticed that it was actually loose around my belly and arms. I am so happy about my first non-scale goal!

Yay!! Exciting when the clothes start to get loose...and more exciting as you go down in sizes. I went from a 26/28 pant to an 8/10 and a 4X top to a petite large. I wish I'd have kept one pair of those 26/28 pants just so I could post a pic with me in them. Oh well....

That's crazy! I am a 3x top and a 26/28 pants right now. I'm definitely gonna take your advice and keep a pair as reference!

Last year my mom bought me a cute pair of white denim capris. 16. Never wore them. Wearing them today. Yahoo.

I bought a pair of pants that turned out to be too small; waited too long, then couldn't return them. Now they're in regular rotation in my daily wardrobe.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
