Yeah, and just pointing out...i'm a guy and i'm 19...so my metabolism is faster (not as much as my skinny roomate who takes weight gain protein..2500 calories per serving...GOD I HATE THAT) Try and tell me my metabolism is high and i'll laugh. But in all seriousness guys lose weight easier than girls, and the age factor goes the same way. And yeah, comparing weight is the easiest way to get discouraged so dont...trust me i'm not ready for before and after photos yet...i dont see a difference..i've still got a good 100 lbs to lose.

Yoda, your right... I know your right. I guess I just assumed that the weight loss would go hand in hand with srinking my liver.

I don't plan on stepping on a scale for at least another 5 weeks.

Trust me you are going to want all of these. For me I was taking crushed demerol & I always chased it with a chewable gravol. Gas-ex was like candy. It was something with flavor and I found it helped with the gas (imagine that). The minty flavor of the strips also helped with my dragon breath. I was not able to brush my teeth for the first 48hours.

You may want to get yourself a heating pad also. I found it to be heavenly on my shoulders with the gas pain that I was having. It really helped me sleep.

Also, when you guys are out, walk, walk, walk. It really helps with the gas pain.

Good luck and I am dure that you will all do fine.

Andrew

I think I was the only one "pushed" up for surgery. But it was no big deal, I didn't have to wait at all, they took me as soon as I stepped into the waiting room. With in about 1/2 hour I was on the table and out cold.

Also I think Robgob's mom got to talk with Mrs. Yoda for a while because of the bump up.

so no harm done... :)

Yeah, so....did you shower yet?? I'm waiting for after today. 3 days (saturday, sunday monday) But does friday count? Like i started day 2 diet stuff Clear Liquids on saturday...so i don't know. I really want to take these things off...but is it better to wait until tomorow?

Also....GOD demerol is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO gross i took few of them simply because of the taste. And the feeling of nausea. I dont understand why they tell us we have to crush meds and give us a gross medication....why not find something in liquid form.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
