Help me put my ice cream machine to use post op!

Recommended Posts

I have this nice fancy machine that makes frozen yogurt and ice cream and even has a gelato setting. It was a fabulous gift from my cousin last year.

With my surgery coming this week, I'd love to get some things made and packaged. Is there a good recipe for a sugar free ice cream with Protein that I can make? I don't like yogurt fresh from the fridge, but frozen yogurt I love. Has anyone combined some nutriblasted fresh strawberries into a recipe for frozen yogurt?

Thanks! I have some little 2oz containers to fill :)

I was told no fresh fruit chunks for several weeks after.

But this sounds good. If you find any good uses

I bet you could make something good with yogurt, low fat coconut milk, lime, and vanilla Protein powder. I'd kill for an ice cream maker!

I had someone tell me that you can freeze Premier Protein (prob any Protein drinks) and make popcicles. I'm sure you could put it in your ice cream maker and make I've cream. Sounds delish!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
