Hi everyone! I'm going in Friday 30th in Washington, D.C. I start liquids a little later than some, on Tuesday. Has anyone found good tricks or recipes for this leg of the journey?

The stuff I'm looking forward to most is being able to shop in any store I want, wearing normal necklaces, watches, boots and bracelets. Also fitting in airplane seats, compact rental cars, booths at restaurants and carnival rides. And more than anything having tons more energy and not turning diabetic or having other health problems.

What about you?

My surgery is May 27th! So excited!!! Would be nice to be in contact with people going through the same thing. I have been drinking just liquids 6 days so far. Week before that the Protein liquids, and a small meal.

My surgeon just required high Protein, low carb for two weeks before surgery. It's been ok. I've lost about 8 pounds so far. I'm a vegetarian though, so my carbs haven't been as low as some people might be able to get them, but I've been average 54g of carbs a day (18g of which are fiber) and 95g of Protein, so not too bad I think.

Mostly I'm looking forward to being more physical, but also to the clothes! I'm skeptical that I'll ever be able to wear "normal" boots though, since my calves are a bit disproportionally large and very dense. In the past when I lost weight, they were slowest to change, and even at a size 12, I couldn't wear boots without laces. So, we'll see.

Just liquids with no Protein? How's that going?

Just picked my clear Isopure drink from GNC. I'm sure my husband is ready for this to over with. I have him going through every scenario that could possibly happen and buying supplies. 5 days from now I will be sleeved.

Just a tip for the clear iso-whey drinks, I've been putting them in popsicle molds and freezing them. They're way more pleasant that way, and unlike regular sugar-free popsicles from the store, you get some protein!

That's exactly what I'm hoping to do. Feeling nauseous is my worst fear. I get car sick and was extremely sick when I was pregnant with my daughter. It's a life log flaw and I'm trying to plan just in case. So many tricks to use from this site. So grateful.

I hear you on ALL of these!! We just did Disneyland last month and I will feel MUCH safer on roller coasters with the shoulder straps going down farther.

I'm also looking forward to being able to cross my legs! Ohere Non scale Victories (NSVs)... Not DIE 4 minutes into wearing heels. join a coed softball team or something and not feel like no one wants me there because of my weight. Learn to scuba dive. RUN a 5k

Oh my I could go on and on!

Hey all!! I've made a little spreadsheet so we can keep track of everyone! I'll update it and make a new thread each week on Saturday with the updated info on everyone... sound good? I know we area all so far apart and I don't have a support group for after surgery, so you guys are it! I look forward to talking with everyone as we go along... tips, tricks, losses, NSVs and ideas! (Like those popsicles, I just ordered some molds from Amazon and they should arrive before I go so I can get some in the fridge! I bought some other non flavored Syntrax nectar Protein that I plan to mix with some stuff to make popsicles too.)

Thanks lylabelle. That is awesome. I am so excited to have a support group! This pre diet is hard although I do get food but only tuna, eggs, turkey, Protein Shakes, etc. I feel bad cause I have cheated a couple of times. It is hard when it is memorial day weekend and everyone is partying!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
