Went in for my fourth month follow up appointment today and the doctor says I'm clear and approved. Just have 2 appointments to satisfy the insurance requirements and it's off to surgery.

oh my gosh!!!! :o

we/i have seen your pretty face around the forum asking your questions - getting good advice

so important for pre-ops/newbies to ask away with their questions

and listen to the great answers :)

so you are obviously right on target with your research here and whereever else :)

what a smart chic are you??? :)

hope you get a date sooner than later

early welcome to sleeveland :)

you are about to start the ride of a lifetime

finding a happier, healthier, longer life :)

good luck

Thank you! Most everyone has been so very nice. It feels like I've been on a roller coaster and have been climbing slowly to the top and now I'm getting ready to roll over the top and head down now at a much faster rate. I'm ready for the ride and the twists and turns and whatever else comes my way. I know there will be pain and struggles and possible complications and emotional ups and downs. I just want it to begin so that I may get it done and the worst behind me. I look forward to being a year post op and wonder how I'll feel and what I will look like. So exciting knowing positive changes are heading my way and that in one year I will most likely feel comfortable in a pair of shorts and a tank top. The simplest things. Wearing what I do now in 120 degree weather is so miserable but I am not about to wear clothes that reveal my arms legs and any other part of my body. I can't wait until my feet do not hurt anymore, among other aches and pains due to the excess weight I carry. What about you? How far out are you? Where are you at in your journey?

reallllly good that you are aware that a few things "can/maybe" happen

some people things everything will ALWAYS be peaches and cream

some/many have no problems immediately PO - or later either (me)

but issues can happen - usually not, but.....

"plan for the worst, hope for the best" :)

like i said, i know you've been wandering/lurking around the board for awhile

you probably know to walk asap PO to get rid of potential gas

sip Water slowly, carefully

if you feel tired when you are home - rest

its your turn to take care of YOU first

you are important - we all are/were - just didn't always realize it :(

as your phases keep moving - always listen to your NUT/surgeon

they are the ones that have all the right answers for YOU :)(they think so,humor them  )

eat slowly

stop drinking about 30 minutes before you eat

do not EVER, EVER drink with your meals (people have been shot for less :D )

do not drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat

drink at least 64 oz a day (more if possible)

measure your food

eat your dense Protein first (ie chicken)

,that will help fill your tummy quicker and make you feel full longer

chew thoroughly

put utensil down between bites

NUT might give you different time periods when, how much to eat et al

remember listen to her like she knows everything ;)

she might not know everything, but humor her ;)

these are just a few of the many rules you should/must follow for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life

never miss a chance to scream my stats ;)

Awesome! You are an inspiration to us all! I pray I am successful as you have been. I am what you would call a professional dieter as most of us are. I've taken 85lbs off in 16 wks and 95lbs in 8 months. I've always been very competitive and succeeded but put it back on. I am hoping by making this commitment it will help keep it off. I will do my best and follow all directions given to me. I have had the talk with my husband and stressed the importance of this and how it's my time to focus on me and what I'll need from him. Thank you for your guidance and advice it means so much to me!

Where are you located JDillon? It is hot here in AZ as well. My surgery date is July 16th. It is definitely nerve wracking and exciting at the same time. Best of luck to you!

I live in Henderson Nevada. Close to Vegas. It is a lot of emotions isn't it? Thank you, good luck to you as well. Where are you at in your journey? Are you done with all the tests and appointments?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
