I have heard about fitbit. Could someone explain it to me, and is it worth the money? Did it help you? Thanks

I have a fitbit zip. It's the smallest and least expensive of all their products. Basically, it's like a pedometer.. you clip it to your bra or jeans or wherever, and it tracks the number of steps you've taken in a day. It translates that into miles per day as well. It gives you an estimate of how many calories you've burned during the day that's based on your height, current weight, and activity tracked for the day. It has a clock, but no timer. And.. the zip has a cute little smiley face that is super happy when you're active and sticks its tongue out at you when you're not (it's supposed to be motivating). The One I believe also tracks sleep, but that means you have to wear it constantly. It has a flower that grows taller the more active you've been throughout the day. There's also a band you can get, but I'm not too familiar with it as I wanted one that clipped to me instead of something I had to wear around my wrist.

Each fitbit also includes an online program very similar to Fitday, where you track meals and pretty much whatever else you can possibly think of. You can search for fitbit dashboard to get an idea of what it looks like I bet. It incorporates all the information the fitbit has gathered every day and puts it all out there for you to see. It does this through wifi and works on your computer and/or your phone. There's a graph that shows you what times you were most active.. it tracks your weight, all sorts of stuff. There's also a scale you can get that's kinda pricey that will link in and keep track of your current weight without having to do anything as well. It's all pretty fancy. I really, really like their online program. They have a free version that comes with your fitbit, or you can choose to upgrade for even more fancy stuff if you'd like.

In all honesty, for the most part, you can get pretty much the same thing with a cheap pedometer and Fitday or whatever other tracking program you prefer.. That being said, I still really like mine and don't regret the $60 I paid for it. It's super cute, which helps me stick with using it. I love the stupid little smiley face more than I should.. and the tracking is really nice. I plan on getting the scale in the future too.

I have the fitbit flex and it is a band that I wear on my wrist. I love it. It is a pedometer, also tracks your activity minutes, how many calories you burn and it can track your sleep pattern. Since I got it I strive everyday to make 10,000 steps. My husband has one also. I think it is a good investment.

I heard from a friend that fitbit is coming out with a new product sometime in the summer and also other companies like LG is also coming out with a fitbit flex look alike so you can wear it on your wrist. I want the fitbit flex but thinking of waiting it out and buy a cheap pedometer.

I LOVE my fitbit Flex. I use it all the time. It tracks your movement,, the amount of very active minutes, your sleep pattern, you can track all your food, Water and sleep. It's nice because it gives you a really good visual of your calories in VS calories out. BEST piece of fitness equipment I own ( aside from my dog~ who walks with me everyday).

I started off with a fitbit flex and got accurate results then moved to a less discreet clip on one which broke on me. So I went into sole real detailed study to compare them all.!so I bought a Nike fuelband, absolutely unbelievable,y only problem is I have skinny wrists and it felt uncomfortable for me. I have now found my new best fried the garmin vivofit, wow this is awesome, don't have to play with buttons to see results, really lightweight and this is the only one in the market that you don't have to recharge every couple of days which is a pain in the backside. Battery life is 1 yr. I highly recommend this to everyone FYI I'm an ex personal trainer too so I really know what details I was after , good luck

I purchased a fitbit one today. I like it so far, but I am not sure I have synced with mfp. Which is the biggest reason I wanted it. Hmmm...will try it for a few days more and see how it goes. I really want it to work they way I have heard it does. :-)

I have had my Fitbit One for about 2-3 months now & really like it. I have it synced with MyFitness Pal so it records my calories on that page. The One tracks your sleep & the little wrist band is very comfortable at night. I am thrilled that I got it!

I am trying to get used to it. It is syncing with MFP but it doesn't give me the credit (it seems) for the calories I burned. Not as much as I think it should. And then MFP doesn't put on my news feed thst I exercises at all, like it did when I manually logged exercise with my pedometer. Or like it does when I use map my fitness. I have to admit I like the posting of my exercise and the accolades, thumbs up from others. So it is disappointing thst it doesn't show up. Idk. Then yesterdsy when I manually logged 30 min of house cleaning, gardening like u can do on MFP it took away the fitbit calories burned altogether. Ack. For me, has been a bit frustrating.

For example. I just walked 3.5 mikes at a moderate 3.3 pace and it only gave me 152 calories for it on MFP. That cannot be right. Fitbit site says I burned 857 cals on thst walk. So why does MFP only recognize it as 152?

Happy to report it's going better. Maybe the fitbit had to sync with me. Lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
