Victories and short comings

Recommended Posts

A couple of weeks ago my daughter asked me to take an Aerial Yoga class with her. I hesitantly agreed thinking, "sure, why not? I've lost a bunch of weight and it was always something I wanted to try."

Well....I was clearly the fattest person there... The instructor wasn't the most sensitive and told me I would have to move to a spot in the middle of the room as it was "more supportive" (I took this to mean the other ropes wouldn't hold me) I wanted to cry... I thought I had come so far, and in many ways I have. But this was a wake up call that I have a long way to go. I was not able to finish the class and I ended up leaving about 1/2 hour into a 2 hour class. I probably could have done more than I did but I did have my gallbladder removed about 6 weeks ago and some of the stretches left me feeling like I was going to hurt something.

Even with all of this, I am so much stronger and healthier than I was. I feel so much more energetic, I am able to walk for miles, my blood pressure is normal and I'm off of meds, my cholesterol is normal, my glucose is normal and all of this is amazing. However, when I see the long road ahead, I start to feel discouraged. Today was just a rough day on me mentally.

You are so brave for attempting this class! Bravo for lasting for a full hour! My work-outs still max out at about 30-45 minutes, and I love them, but no way I could last a full hour traying a new workout I'd never done before, in the middle of the class of skinny people! Our muscle tone hasn't even had a chance to start bouncing back because we're losing weight so fast.

Let the negative crap go and focus on the fact that you could never have walked into that room 5 months ago and lasted for 60 minutes!! Congrats!

Congratulations on trying something new! You inspire me! I guarantee you that you also inspired someone else in that class too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
