My exercise routine-finally

Recommended Posts

After procrastinating for 6 weeks, I've finally established a routine that I think I can stick with. The coach at my school told me I should see results with it. I hope he knows what he's talking about.

  • I use the weight machines in the school gym for 15 minutes during my free period. I hope to get up to 30, but I'm nowhere near strong enough yet.
  • At home, I ride my recumbent bike for 20-30 minutes
  • After that, I do a short kettlebell workout for 5-10 minutes.

Sounds good. I need to get back with it myself. Last year I walked in my first 1/2 marathon, took 3 hrs and 50 minutes. I was #2000 out of 2012 entrants. I am so wanting to have my surgery by end of May so I can recoup and start training again. The YMCA starts a jumpstart program May 17th, but the real training starts in July. Hoping to cut some time off. Keep up the good work, you inspire me to get it going. Thanks.

I'm only 3 weeks out and feel like a serious couch potato. But my energy is so low and my calorie intake is under 200. Once I get that in check I will be ready to start. I just replaced the battery in my fit. We have TRX system at home that I want to start using. It's a band kind of contraptions. My friend who's the strength training teacher at our local school swears by it. I'm really trying to focus on my arms. I'm not your typical women with nice lean long muscles. I was always very muscular and hope to be again so I can avoid some of the excess flapping.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
