Need Idea's
I still love my unjury brand chocolate protein shakes. They just don't have that bad after taste. You get almost 30 grams of protein in w/the milk. I use my nutria bullet to whip it up, and recently started putting in a 1/2 banana too. Yummy! I a 9 months out, and still use this for a great breakfast start to the day. Good luck to you!

Tomatoes and/or Fruit
I am 9months out and I eat fruit and tomatoes. I do not eat fruit by itself. I always eat it in greek yogurt or with some cheese or with peanut butter. I have not had any dumping, but I do not want to chance it, so I make sure I have protein with it to ward off the sugars in them.

Stalling for weeks on end
Wow it looks like you are doing great to me! Just keep on doing what you are supposed to be doing, it will move. I get a slowed down some now too. I got stuck at 211 for about 4 weeks, then it finally went down. Then I got stuck at 196 for about 2 1/2 weeks and finally the scales moved today to 194. Also, I try on clothes that are too small and re-try them...that is where you see the change in inches you were talking about. Hang in there and keep up the good work.

When does the nausea stop?
I do have to chew very well, and slowly. I don't get nauseas too often, but as soon as I have not chewed/ or eat too fast....it's like my throat fills with mucus and it feels like I am full to the top of my throat....and you guessed it! I have to go throw up until I get the un-chewed portion out. But I do not have any more nausea like in the beginning. Thank Goodness! I had a band revision to rny bypass in the same surgery, and I believe the extraction of the band, port and scar tissue really made my stomach extra sensitive in the first month or so. Definitely keep drinking your fluids, and keep trying your different protein choices...you never know what day your tastes will change and you will be able to tolerate the new foods. Hang in there.

Taste in mouth
I did at first after surgery. I even took my toothbrush and toothpaste to work the first month back. Seemed to go away by 6 weeks post op for me.

When does the nausea stop?
I hope you are all feeling better by now. I remember crying and wondering too if I had mad a bad choice. But, it really does subside and it really has been a blessing in my life. I had an aversion to sweetness at first too. The sugar substitutes were sickening! Even now, at 6+months out, I use less sweetener than ever. For instance, I used 10 packets of sweet n low in a gallon of tea before surgery, and for months afterwards used only 6 packets. I used 8 today. I ate a lot of scrambled eggs with onion on my soft foods. Keep drinking lots of water and check back every day....we can keep encouraging you and you can see how each day brings more normalcy to your life. praying for you all.

Any luck with Peer to Peer evaluation?
Different set of circumstances, but my Dr had to do a peer to peer after my denial, and it went great. Once he was able to speak with and explain the Doctor at the insurance company it was approved and I got my surgery date scheduled within 3 weeks of that phone conversation. Good luck to you. I remember how stressful the waiting is. Hang in there!

When does the nausea stop?
I struggled with nausea too. About 3 weeks or so. Definitely drink your water, I got dehydrated and had to go to hospital to get IV fluids. Also made a round of horrible constipation happen! Weird, but I found that Crystal Light pink lemonade seemed to be something I could drink that would take some of the nausea out of me for a short bit at a time. Good luck, and won't be much longer. I am 6 mos out now and doing great.

Introduction-Lap Band to Gastric By-Pass Conversion
Yes I think it has been a much more positive and successful surgery. I had the band surgery in November 2007 and repositioned in October 2008. It never worked again after the 2008 surgery, I guess it slipped, I would get food stuck on top of the band every time I ate real food, so I ate a lot of sliders to get something down. I got tired of having to go to the bathroom and PB every time I ate. Wish I had revised to the bypass sooner. I am 6 months out and doing great. Good luck on your journey.
