How many calories at almost 10 months out?

Recommended Posts

Almost 10 months out and 102lbs down with about 50 to go. Started the gym about 5 weeks ago and haven't lost a single lb since. I religiously log every day and eat about 1000-1200 calories to day and burning about 800. So I'm netting about 200-400 calories per day. Should I be eating some of those calories back?

When you do resistance training you build your muscles. Muscle weighs more than fat. So this doesn't mean you get bigger, you should be "smaller" in size (tighter, some people may say) but you may say the same or weigh a bit more in some cases.

Try to guage how you feel in your clothes or actually measure yourself, including your thighs and calves and see how you are in a few more weeks.

I agree, you may be losing inches instead of pounds right now. Just stick to your plan. You are likely at a plateau, which will pass. Just give it time. I would not increase calories if you want to lose more weight.

I agree with what the others have said. Definitely take your measurements. Do you see a nutritionist at all? Perhaps they could give you some specific information based on your food logs as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
