Almost 3 weeks post op!

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I had the sleeve on April 9th and I'm feeling great. My weight on the day of surgery was 233 and now I am 222. I've hit a stall for a few days so I hope that's just temporary!! I am a mom of two small children ages 19 months and 4.5 years. It has been going fine but I do find myself hungry beyond what my programs says to eat (only 1/4 cup 3x a day) so I have been adding in a few extra bites here and there if needed. I have pcos and have had it since I was 15 years old. I will be 34 this year!

Lately some of my incision pain has returned and some back pain. It could be from my attempts to be super mom and I need to slow down. Life is busy though with little kids!

Hoping to make a few buddies as we journey this crazy adventure together! :)

I'm so glad you are doing fine but try to take it as easy as possible. This early on stalls shouldn't be a problem, just don't weigh yourself for another week or two, the weight is going to come off! I can't wait to see a picture of you in just a few months!

Great to hear you're doing well. And it sounds like you are right on time to hit the dreaded 3-week stall. I've had many stalls over the past 15 months and I've learned that if I just stick to my eating and exercise program, the weight starts to drop again.

Good luck and Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!

Hi all. I had the sleeve on April 9th and I'm feeling great.

I too was sleeved on the 9th and since surgery I have lost 11lbs like you. I lost some on the pre op diet so I am happy with my total loss so far. What I am most pleased about is that I have broken the triple digit mark (I now weigh less than 100kg!! and am only in double digits - btw I live in Australia :)

I know what you mean about being so busy, or maybe too busy, my kids are aged 10, 3 and 11 months. I only just went back to work today after surgery but cant complain having had such a good break/recovery. My 10 yr old and my biggest child (husband) have been super helpful, so that has taken the pressure off. But picking up my 3 yr is hard, he is too big and heavy

so soon after surgery.

I am a total shocker when it comes to the scales as I weigh daily - although there isnt a loss every day, it is consistently going down. The scale and I are friends now cos its going down as opposed to only ever going up.

I think though, if you're experiencing incision pain, that's definitely a cue that you need to take it a little bit easier on yourself. Take care and all the best on your journey!

That's awesome you have lost the same as me! I have actually seen the scale go up and pound or two but then it drops back down. It is devastating when that happens and it freaks me out! I have decided to not weigh myself until Friday! I will become obsessed if I weigh in every day and don't see it move.. argh! I think part of my weight "gain" here and there is also because I am having trouble with Constipation. TMI perhaps but it's apart of life, especially after WLS. Miralax is becoming an every day thing for me! I think some is Water retention too as I haven't been getting in 64 ounces each day. I didn't really get that in before surgery! I've never been a big drinker of anything so it is work for me to get that in!!

I'm 2 weeks out and have stalled but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm having such a hard time getting in my Proteins. I'm just starting puréed foods and the shakes are getting a little easier to tolerate. Despite the scale not moving (down 11lbs since surgery) I can see that my clothes are fitting differently. So now I am making a promise to only weigh once a week. I too am a busy mommy. I have a 5yr old daughter and 2yr old twin daughters. I think our bodies are still adjusting and we just have to be patient and know that if we are following the rules the weight will come off.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
