Restaurant and only one week out :(

Recommended Posts

I am on my way to Golden Corral for a family birthday celebration. I don't typically like the restaurant except for a good salad, but it's still going to be hard to sit and just watch everyone eat.

Yeah I plan on sipping the juice out of the chicken noodle Soup. It's more of a mind thing to me.

I feel you! My family had burgers and hot dogs while I sipped Soup.

AYCE/Buffet type restaurants truly suck, don't they? Just designed for failure and over-indulgence, with everyone around you stuffing themselves. I have avoided them for the most part since surgery, but I did end up at a Chinese buffet with family a few weeks ago, and was happy just to enjoy the company and drink some Protein. I don't know if I could have done that happily at only one week out, though! Maybe you can take comfort in the fact that most of the food there is tasteless, reheated crap that has probably been coughed on, sneezed in and is crawling with human hair. :)

The coughed on sneezed on made me feel much better. Haha. However I just saw fruit and a chocolate fountain and almost cried. Lol!

It won't be that hard, as you will only want with. Good luck your eyes. If you go with your husband, kids. I would tell them to get you sup, it's not worth paying for a whole meal, and you will be lucky to get a couple of sips.If there are people there you don't want to know, just say you have a bit of a upset stomach. Good luck to you!

I feel your pain! Since my surgery on 4/8 I have been through my Dad's birthday dinner at a Mexican restaurant, a friends birthday BBQ and Easter dinner.

Just remember the liquid food phases are temporary and soon you will have other food options.

I can't wait to have real food! Just a cheese cube would be fabulous!

A cube of cheese would be most welcome to my tastebuds! There is a member on here that has a blog w recipes and she has one for a cheese soufflé. I think the website is www.twosleevers.com. I am making that tomorrow. Got busy today but def. trying it tomorrow.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
