give it a little more time. You may be one of those that recovers from surgery more slowly. Your body is hanging on to those massive amounts of Fluid they pumped into you while you were in the hospital and of course all your parts are still swollen. The third week you will probably drop a a lot of pounds. Make sure you are moving, drinking Water, and eating Protein. The weight is going to come off!!! Hope you are feeling better and will be back to your old self soon.

Ok, I'm putting this in my folder of posts I have read with this exact same line...........And I'm gonna have to get a bigger folder.

Relax.......this is a long haul. Your body is really pissed off. You hacked it all up and deprived it of food and it is just trying to show you who's boss. It will give up soon and let go of the weight and you'll be on the road to a skinnier you like the rest of us.

Oh, and one more thing. That same body will not give up with just one fight......It's gonna keep trying over and over to hang on to the remaining weight (stalls) and make you give up and feed it. Don't give in...........Hang in there and you'll make it to your goal. ;)

At 2 weeks post op, I was also feeling I was dropping a little slow compared to other reports on this board. It was averaging out to about 4.5 lbs per week. I have been getting all of my Protein and exercising (60 minutes of cardio 6 days per week). I have a Bodymedia Fitness Monitor that tracks my calories burned each day. I also use My Fitness Pal to monitor my caloric input. Guess what? My numbers are exactly where they should be. I have a 2300 calorie deficit each day. Multiplied by 7 (days in the week) equals 16100 calorie deficit each week. Divided by 3500 ( the number of calories burned to equal 1 lb of fat loss) equals 4.6 pounds per week. Once you are off liquids, try to get an idea of number of calories going in compared to how many you use each day. The numbers should be fairly close.

I lost only 6 lbs my first two weeks and I started a lot higher than you. I'm at 5 weeks now and have lost 17 lbs since surgery. Compared to others I'm a slow loser but I've never lost this much this fast so I happy with it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
