Stage 2....How can you follow that meal plan?!?

Recommended Posts

I am 3 weeks post op, stage 2. My doctor gave me a sample meal plan which I am having a hard time following. I am always full so introducing "meals", even 2 oz meals, is difficult. I spoke to my surgeon 3 days ago and she said focus on the Protein shakes...blahhh!! In order to do that I increased the Skim Milk plus to 8 oz so it is tolerable. Funny part about this is that when I was on Stage 1, I couldn't wait to eat!!! Let's not talk about the ridiculous heartburn. Don't get me wrong, I have ZERO regrets I had the surgery. I just need to find my balance, and I need to find something that really works for this sizzling heartburn. I am TUMmed out!! lol

I hadrons stay on full liquids for an extra week cause my tummy could not tolerate stage 2 foods..like whipped potatoes..Apple sauce.etc. Just be. Patient. It may take takes others to slower. I assure u..you will be able to eat almost everything once you are completely healed. When u do eat "normal" food.. Cut your meat, etc..into small bits. And chew chew chew.

For the heartburn, try a preventive medication like Pepcid or Prilosec if your physician says it's ok. Those work a LOT better than just putting out the fire with Tums.

I agree, sounds like you need a PPI like prilosec, etc. Check with your doc.

I will say that eating brought no pleasure the first 5 months or so. Great time to get a big chunk of weight off. I never pushed myself to move the next stage, I just progressed as it felt comfortable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
