4 weeks out-soft solid stage

Recommended Posts

Fellow sleevers! I am 4 weeks post op and have graduated to "soft solids" ... What foods did you struggle with during this phase and what were you successful with? (I can now have deli turkey/ham/cheese/chilli/ground turkey, ground chicken, ground beef, chicken salad, tuna salad)

I have trouble with spicy - which saddens me greatly. I hope that it will get better as time moves along

I had crab salad yesterday (crab meat, low fat mayo and a little old bay seasoning) I thought I was in heaven.

I still eat a lot of Soups - trying not to introduce too much new stuff to my stomach all at once.

I struggle with deli ham, the turkey sits better.

Good Luck!!

I had the worst first day on soft-solids. I 'reheated' leftover dinner, which was talapia, quinoa, and greens. I thought I had enough juice from the greens to be alright, but it went down dry and got stuck so I was sick for almost 4.5 hours. Had to leave work and everything. So unless it is freshly cooked, I don't eat it.

Whatever you choose to eat, make sure that it is moist as all get out! Your food selection must still be of the pureed type even though it is solids (soft-solids.) Everything that you are getting ready to eat, make sure that it will puree in your mouth and that it is moist going down, otherwise, you will suffer. Not trying to scare you, but I believe if we question before we put something in our mouth OR if we put something in our mouth and chew on it and it doesn't feel moist - DO NOT SWALLOW! Spit it out! That is what did yesterday. I ended up eating only one teaspoon of the potato salad, tested the dark meat chicken for moisture and only ate about 2 ounces of that, then one teaspoon of the spaghetti. Took me 30-40 minutes of testing and spitting to make sure, but it's training me to make the right choice.

Good Luck. I'm sure you will find your way!

I've not had a problem with anything so far, 24 days out. Just had Cod in Parsley sauce, mashed with a fork and it was lovely.

I've had beef mince, sort of repeat on me and keep coming up a bit when I burp but have not been sick at all. I'm looking forward to trying some crisp bread tomorrow :)

I'm drinking copious amounts of tea and Water too :)

Is anyone stalling? I've lost 6lbs in 3 weeks idk what I can do to help

I've been stuck for the last week. Monday made two weeks post op. I've lost 11 pounds since surgery and 20 pounds before surgery. It really has messed with my head to not see the scale move this early on. But I've struggled with my Protein and Water intake. Yesterday and today my goals have been to get 70g of Protein and as much Water as I can tolerate to see if that helps. I'm still on pureed so I'm not really eating much other than an egg here and there and a smooshed avocado. Everyone says a stall is normal but it hasn't helped me feel any less bummed about it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
