I'm waiting for my surgeon's office to send my stuff to insurance. Once they do its on. I will call the insurance company everyday to check on it. I did it with my last surgery and no one every got mad at me. I figure I pay a small fortune for my insurance, so I can call when ever I want.

Good to know cause today they said it was pending and could be a 15 day process. I just keep hearing people getting approval in 5 days. So I guess I'm gonna keep calling!

I have UHC and they will tell me 15 days, 21 days or a month. Just depends on the rep you talk to. It's took about a week or so to get approval, but it was special type surgery for a spinal cord stimulator. It had to have two approvals. I am hoping for a speedy process for my wls.

I have UHC and they sent in last friday and I'm going crazy waiting also. I started process in Oct. I have done everything they have asked of me so would not think it would take that long. I have not called but the thought did cross my mind.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
