I haven't had any problems I'm 3 weeks post and so far I have had tuna fish or canned chicken with a little mayo, eggs, grits, and crab cake ( frozen from SAMs and it was the bomb) those are the only meats I've had. I had a bite of string Beans and sweet potato but I'm trying to stay away from carbs I still can't get all my fluids in but I've never been a big drinker

I thought grits would be heavy. You've eaten quite a bit in week 3. About how many bites can you take in per meal?

I can eat anywhere from 1/4 c to 1/2 c depends on what it is . The grits where watery and I knew they would swell so I only ate 4 bites. My dr said that our stomach would be sticky and flat and to always take one bite and wait a few minutes to let it slide down and open the stomach up.

Oh, that's fantastic advice.

My dr told me I could do Cream of Wheat but I'd much rather do grits!!! I think I may try them slowly here in the next few days. Next week I plan to do some quiches! I'm getting excited just thinking about it!!!!! I know once we can move to that next food level we'll feel much much better!!!!

how have things been going??

you are a 12 day VET!!!!

glad things have been going so well :)

the first couple of weeks can be very trying

happy you are still around to talk about life after surgery

always listen to YOUR doc and NUT following their rules only

other people might/will mention things they were told by their NUT or doc

people on the board - will give great advice, comments

but after all is said and done listen to YOUR medical advice from your team

continue to enjoy your new best friend - the sleeve :)

you are starting a wonderful trip through sleeveland :)

keep up the good work

kathy

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
