Tomorrow I go under the knife to change my life. High blood pressure high cholesterol sleep apnea starting off at 277 hoping to be down to 175 one day. A little nervous about the process and recovery.

You are entering a new chapter in your life.

You don't say what surgery you are having but whichever one it is you'll do fine.

I don't regret mine 99.9% of the time. That .1% is in my dreams that I have and what I act like towards food I don't have any more.

I feel great from having this surgery because I'm off diabetes meds, blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, and a few others.

As for my sleep apnea it's changed and I'm going to be retested to see if I still have it.

Good luck and be well.

Here I am 72 hours out this surgery is no joke when it comes to the pain side of things. I feel like a car ran over my abdomen. But I guess this is the rough patch. Try my first Protein Shakes today and some of the Multivitamins recommended kept both down without an issue. thank goodness the Protein shakes really had me scared from everything I've heard of.

Good luck, eschy! You'll do great! You made the decision to take control of your health and now your journey begins. Soon, the pain will be a distant memory and you'll see the great results of your hard work. :)

Eschy I heard the first week is the worst but if you hang in there everything else will get better and you will start feeling much better. Keep up the good work, I heard that walking makes it better fast and gets rid of all the bloat and gas which can cause pain. Feel better because you are on your way to a new wonderful life.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
