Hi all I'm a week out and I'm extremely tired. I have no energy and to walk up the stairs or the other end of the house just makes me exhausted. Does anyone else seem to be like this. On a better note I have not been nauseous I'm not hungry and I'm down 9 lbs in the 7 days so I guess ill take that trade:-)

Sure, I was like that for weeks. You've just had major surgery. You are losing weight rapidly. While some people bounce back very fast, I would guess that most take weeks to regain their gusto. I am almost three months out; some days like today I have tons of energy but other days I drag myself home from work. Once you get on solid food and start to exercise every day, you will start feeling more like yourself. Cheers to you for taking this excellent big step! Enjoy the journey - it's amazing.

just consider it as body at rest. You are recovering from major surgery. All the drugs and stuff that your body went through it is rebelling by trying to get you to rest so that it can heal and dispose of all the stuff in side that happened. Swelling and everything else. Enjoy the days you feel good but right now take it easy on your self and things will get better a little day by day by day...And pretty soon you will be running marathons! ;)

Once you are able to get carbs back in your diet, your energy will return.

No, actually the opposite. Having the energy allowed me to do more and start an exercise regimen. Before, I was too tired to get off my hiney. Being able to move more and get out there and exercise, I was able to really get my weight loss going. If you are viewing this in a web browser, look at my signature to see my weight loss numbers.

*** EDIT ***

You have to remember one thing. Low carb diets are for people with "normal" sized stomachs. The restriction my sleeve provides restricts my carb intake. Low carb = low energy = minimal exertion

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
