Can you drink Water? Or any fluids? If you can't drink any fluids you're too tight. If you can drink, then wait a few days to see if the swelling goes down and you can eat easier?

If you can eat Soups like progresso types with soft veggies in them you're probably OK for now?

2muchfun...you have been so helpful to me over the past almost three months...thank you. but you mentioned something here that sparked my interest and something I need to be aware of...does everyone get real tight after their fills...no matter how small they are? my first fill has not given me any restriction and I go for my 2nd one today...only have 2 cc's in there now...and not sure how much they will give me today...so was just wondering...does everyone usually go through tightness after a fill? Thanks for letting me know.

I can drink, just not fast. I can eat small pieces, and more later in the day. When I lay down at night I keep burping, I actually woke up this morning and felt better, it's been a week since my fill I am going to wait another week and see. Thanks for the response

No, it's actually not normal to get a fill that makes you too tight. Mainly because it takes 3-6 fills to get to the point you're in the green zone. Most fills you may not feel anything. I felt nothing till my 3rd fill and then it was neglible. Never felt real tight till my 6th fill. I've never been so tight that I couldn't drink fluids. My doc believes in sneaking up on the green zone. It's frustrating because it takes longer.

It's going to depend on how aggressive the doc is too.

Didisom1 this was me 2 weeks ago. I thought I could wait it out even though I couldn't eat and barely drink even Water in the morning time until after 6pm. Sure I was losing weight but I was getting stuck, vomiting and developed a strange pain when I swallowed. After getting advise from all these fine people I got a small .5 cc un-fill and feel so much better.

I was scared about the pain and thought I messed up my band. Luckily no harm. If your too tight in the am and can not drink or eat you should get an un-fill. No amount of weight loss is worth hurting yourself over.

Good Luck.

Finally feeling real restriction after 5th fill. Everyone is different and so are the surgeons. Mine is conservative with the fills I think to let me get use to band. But this last fill is most restriction I've felt since surgery last September:)

food restriction is one thing but u'll know youre too tight, even if Water goes down fine, but if ur having night coughs, night vomitting, sliming even though u've not eaten nor drank anything, ur too tight.

Vomitting causes slips.

Ive had 1.0 removed due to the above i go back May 7th for another xray to see if my slight slip has corrected itself. Ive not vomitted since the 1.0 was taken out & even though Im sleeping thru the night I fear I may be regaining that lost weight in the interim.

I am doing better but last night I woke up coughing cause the pill I took felt like it was stuck, is that possible? I am able to eat towards the amend of the day but in the morning it is hard, how would I know if I slipped?

@@Didisom1

I had to chew my birthcontrol pills the entire 2 months that i was too tight & theyre pretty tiny pills.< /p>

Only the xray & the Fluid they make u swallow will show a slip & how severe it may be.

But if ur vomitting, that moves your stomach through the band & thats how the slip begins.

didisom1 my doctor always tell me if I am having issues to go back to liquids and soft diet for a few days...if that doesn't work I suggest you call yours. I will be thinking about you and hoping your situation resolves soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
