So, saw a GI, and he ordered a HIDA scan, i get result back tomorrow. Here's hoping something finally comes up.

Oooh, also found out rapid weight loss leads to gallbladder issues, kind of wish i had known before hand. I would still have had the surgery done, but would have not been as shocked when tjese issues started coming up.

I had issues with my gallbladder, when they found no gallstones, and no swelling they did the hida scan, it was the worst pain I have ever experienced, and I had a baby that was almost 7 pounds naturally. When they did the injection into the iv for the hida scan within about 2 minutes I was in the fetal position from the pain. I have a super high pain tolerance and that pretty much took me to my knees. The tech took a few images, but said the pain told her way more than the scan itself would. When I got into my car and called my lapband surgeon (I was revised to a sleeve after 8 years of being banded) to let him know the results would be in his office before the close of business he asked how I was feeling, I told him I thought being hit by a Grey Hound bus would have felt better, he said "I'll have my scheduler put you on the first opening of my operating schedule. My gall bladder was filling but not emptying correctly, so I felt like a giant balloon was being inflated in my chest. After it was removed I was back to my old self within 24 hours. Before I went to my surgeon I was in the ER 4 times with chest pain, vomiting and shortness of breath. They kept telling me I either had indigestion, GERD, or it was all in my head. I'm glad I insisted that my surgeon look into it, if not for him sending me for the HIDA scan I would still be dealing with it, or it would have ruptured. It's funny I walked into his office when the pain was still bad on a daily basis and told him to remove my lapband, and while he was inside my abdomen to poke around and see what was going on to cause the pain. At first he thought it might be my port pulling away from the muscle and the pain was from my stitches tearing, but he didn't give up or blow me off, he just made it better.

Wow, pierced, sounds similar to mine. I had the Hida scan, but they didn't have all the meds needed for the scan, so it came back normal. The GI doc even said in my notes that due to not a complete scan, my results of normal may not be normal. So tomorrow i go for another scan. This one being about 3 hours. I dont know why they tried the HIDA scan knowing they didn't have the meds to do ot completely, and won't for awhile due to a national shortage. My doc also said in my notes, i need a consult with a gi surgeon....so we shall see. It's just so frustrating, ya know. Thanks for sharing your story...was the surgery to remove it bad, or was it easy prazy?

It was amazing easy, I had my surgery on a thursday afternoon and was back at work (no lifting) on Sat evening. I was a bit sore, but didn't take pain meds after the 2nd day. I felt so much better from the stomach issues that the little bit of discomfort from the incision was nothing.

I have also been feeling real dizzy and like I'm going to faint. I've been feeling like this a week after my surgery. All of my test came out fine also but as soon as I go to stand up or do something I feel like I am going to faint.

First, no matter what... KEEP DRINKING! After you do that, get a full Vitamin panel and take a really good multi. Start there and then bother the hell out of your doc...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
