April 3rd band date

Recommended Posts

Know there are April banders out there, why is our month so empty? I was banded April 3, 2014 three days later I feel fine, just tired off and on, I am tired of these gas pains and falling asleep randomly. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Tomika

It'll move pretty fast. Congratulations. The 1st week is the hardest.

I was banded April 1st and doing good now. First couple days were yucky and gas lasted through yesterday (day 5). I still have some pain when I move certain ways but other then that I am good. I go back to work tomorrow, which scares me a little. I am able to drink my Protein better at this point and getting in what my doctor recommends.

Today is day for me, I feel better, I have gas pains when I walk up my stairs to my apartment, it's horrible. However last night was the first time I was able to sleep in my bed, which was awesome because I've been sleeping on my couch.

Hi! I was banded on April 3rd. I am glad the first week is over and I do not have any more pain. My diet can include puréed Soups this week, but the hunger still isn't there.

I am hungry...until I actually go to eat... It's crazy. Tonight I puréed the chicken and Soup part of chicken dumplings and couldn't eat it, I became nauseous

Not so much... I am doing a lot better now. Mushy wasn't that bad, it was weird to blend my chicken, and it did change the taste of the food.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
