Start liquid diet in morning and so scared. Having second thoughts. But shouldn't. I weigh 350 pounds and am 5'5" and will be 40 at end of April. I am so scared of 4 weeks of liquids and the recovery. This app has been awesome in answering questions.

Hey.. I am also being sleeved April 15.. Start liquid preop tomorrow - I'm 38, 5 feet 300 lbs. I am starting to panic!

Panic about what? I would reverse your thoughts and panic more on if you do not get this surgery. You have made it this far - time for the next step. Set it in your mind that you are doing it and don't look back. 38 and 40 are young ages and great times to do this. I just did mine on the 26th and am in the liquid stages still. Worry does nothing but cause issues. You know the risks involved get passed worrying about them and move forward. You will both do great. Before you know it you will be over here on the losers bench.. Stay positive..

Your right marathon1218

I recently joined the LOSERS and I couldn't be happier!

To the 4/15 gang

Don't panic. Just take it one day at a time. It is worth it.

I was sleeved 3/26. So far my recovery has been smooth. I'm starting week 4 of Protein drinks. Definitely getting bored of them. I am looking to start soft purée foods next week. WHOOHOO!

I have been using Unjury. You can only get it online. They ship fast,it usually arrives in two days. My favorite is the chocolate Splendor. I also like the chicken broth. If you get in touch with them they will send you a sample.

I use skim milk. I vary between shaker bottle and using a ninja blender the powder blends very easy and smoothly either way

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
