More than any food or booze etc, I miss my ibuprofen! I have fibromyalgia and spinal stenosis. I hurt my low back yesterday during exercising and cannot stand up straight. Normally a couple of Ibuprefen would help so much, but I cannot take them ever

Crazy as it sounds, oatmeal! I loved a bowl of hot Cereal in the morning for Breakfast. I know the yogurt is better for me, but my husband has it every morning and several of my co-workers do as well. Just the smell makes me want some so badly. I am thinking of making a small bowl just to get the compulsion out of my head!

Ok, I know this sounds really weird, but I make a high Protein oatmeal substitute that's pretty close-- I take 1/3 c of TVP (textured veg protein), 1 c Water and a dash of salt and mix it together in a large cereal bowl. Pop in the microwave for 1 min. Stir. Cook at 40% power for 10 more minutes. I top with Splenda, cinnamon, vanilla sugar free Syrup and almond milk. 107 calories and 16 protein -- before any toppings.

Garlic bread.

DL, I have occasional popcorn, too. Not much at all,but a few handfuls just like my unsalted dry roasted peanuts and sunflower kernels. I use real popcorn kernels in a bag and avoid the pre-packaged microwave kind. Interestly, a friend of mine grows her own popcorn every year and shares a quart jar with us me at Christmas and birthday.

Is popcorn just not an option per your bariatric guidelines or a personal choice because there is not much Protein value?

Where do you find the TVP? I have ground flax seed that is by that same company, but have never seen TVP at my store. This is very exciting! I would LOVE to try it! Thank you!!

I've found it in any large grocery store. Mine is found with all the bob's mill stuff --- like flax, almond meal, isolate etc -- in the baking needs in one store here and in the special dietary (ie: gluten free) in another. It runs about 8.00 here but it lasts forever. They also carry it in health food stores. :-). My husband (a skinny person) uses maple Syrup and brown sugar on it.

Garlic bread.< /p>

Have you ever tried this? I use garlic butter on it and it's a great substitute.

Wow - I definitely second the garlic bread. Didn't think of that one!

Surgeon told me no popcorn for life but...tried it a couple of times at the movies and yea, with butter. Dumped both times. I might/probably be able to get away with it with no butter but as much as I love (loved) popcorn, it just ain't the same without butter. I really can't complain. The list of things that I can't tolerate is quite short and added all together are still a miniscule price to pay.

I don't think I've ever know anyone who grows their own popcorn. How cool is that?! You guys have a great day!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
