Wow1. I'd have to look for me somebody else. I mean SERIOUSLY? Was he seriously just blind sticking you? My port has always been really prominent and a student could hit it. But to not even get in the vicinity.

FatHannah...try not to worry...and trust in your doctor...hopefully it is merely inflammation. I have my port in my left chest area..and I can feel it...sometimes during the day it is right up close to my beast other days it isn't noticeable at all. It was sore for along while, but no longer now. I hope they get you taken care of soon. Hang in there sweetie!!!

Oh I feel your pain! My dr had issues finding my port on Friday (mine has always been a pain! I was banded almost 3 years ago) my dr's office ONLY does fills under fluoro, they like to see how tight it is and make sure I can swallow the proper amount and make sure it's still in place. It's nice to have that reassurance.

After reading the problems you've had, I'd highly suggest looking for a new surgeon! This one sounds like a jerk for starters (he can't admit when he's wrong and doesn't know when to say he needs a little assistance, such as doing with fluoro) and you should not ever be poked 7 times! I am still sore from the 1 poke that was moved around about 3 times and bruised, I can't imagine being stuck that much!! I also have a 3.5-4 hour round trip commute (depends on traffic and construction which has been ridiculous) but if you're willing to travel, try to find someone else!

Hope that you're doing well otherwise, hang in there!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
