That feeling when a regular bath towel fits around my body

When I don't feel like sleeping all day and hiding away from the world

Knowing how it feels to go into the dressing room and stand before the mirror in single digit clothing and it fits and looks good

People come up to you and say Omg you look great how are you losing weight

Not being the fattest person in the room

Not cringing when your photo is taken

Tank tops in the summer and your arms look good

Not having to wear jeans in 120 degree weather

Climbing the stairs and not out of breath

Being naked in front of my husband and the lights are on

Shopping for clothes and the size is not accompanied by an X at all

Being able to go to a pool party

Knowing I'm eating better and my son will have his mommy that much longer

To finally set a wedding date!

Take that long awaited family photo

Shop at a store that isn't Lane Bryant

No longer the fat friend

Not having to hear "You have such a pretty face"

To sit in a flimsy plastic chair with no fear

Ride any ride I want at Disney

Walking by that bitch that once upon a time called me fat

To run around with my sons and not feel like my heart is going to explode or my knees are going to give out

To look in the mirror and be like " You Did It Bitch"

To not have backpain anymore.

To fit in a plastic lawn chair comfortably.

To not look for the Plus size section in a clothing store.

To be able to start a family.

Sit in the plane seat and buckle seatbelt.

Sit in a small car and not feel like big foot.

Go to the beach in a bathing suit, no t-shirt or coverup.

To be pain free.

No more high blood pressure.

To just be healthy.

Fantastic list @

Love the two below... and when you finally do walk past her don't react. It will be so satisfying if she basically doesn't exist!

Walking by that b***h that once upon a time called me fat

To look in the mirror and be like " You Did It b***h"

To have people open doors for me. To laugh again. To wear the clothes I've bought over the years that I knew wouldn't fit but thought were cute. To not ask my fiance if he has clothes I can wear. To have the desire for sex again and not have heartburn while doing it( if tmi I'm sorry). To have the energy to play with my grand babies...

My first post :)

To be comfortable in my own skin

Not be afraid to look in the mirror

Not be afraid of being intimate with my husband

Not being the fat sister/daughter/aunt

Being able to walk around downtown Savannah with my husband and son and not get tired.

Going to the beach and not feeling like a whale or being stared at.

Living longer for my family.

Finding clothes that fit.

Feeling pretty again

Not wondering if I didn't get a job because I'm overweight

And I forgot! Not having to hear, "Oh! You'll lose all that weight when the baby starts walking!" EVER. AGAIN.

To not worry about dying in my sleep because I stopped breathing

To not feel like I'm having a heart attack when walking up hill

To buying a convertible sports car and not worrying about if I'll even fit behind the wheel

To buying ridiculous shoes and not looking ridiculous in them

To my daughter now sneaking some of my clothes (I act mad but it gives me so much joy)

To not being sweaty all the time

To getting whistled at

To not having to wait for everyone to clear before going through a hallway or doorway

To not worrying about breaking things every time I sit down.

To live my life...

To not have to work harder than everyone else who ISN'T so big, as compensation.

To not going home after work to put on stretchy comfy clothes.

To not bracing before any family gathering wondering who will make cracks about weight or eating (okay, that will still bug the heck out of me, but I won't feel like the primary target!)

Not hearing the bed creak when i sit on it at night.

To choosing what to wear because I like looking good, instead of choosing what makes me look less fat.

To no longer living in fear I'll fall and injure myself due to so much weight crashing down.

To never again breaking a toilet seat at someone else's house (it was AWFUL!).

To planning longer backpack trips because I can carry enough for 6 days instead of only three.

To not feeling my kayak sink lower in the Water than it should.

To doing the Tough Mudder with my daughter instead of just buying the pics!

Thanks you guys - this was a really great exercise - and just what I needed while I"m waiting forever for a date! Thank you thank you! And I LOVE your lists!!

It is kind of therapeutic isn't it? A kind of confession from the soul and acknowledgement of why we want this or have done this. Not everyone understands or agrees but they sure can't argue our lists are not full of great reasons for wls .

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
