Hey ALL It's Miss Chi- Town!

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say hello to all and Congrats! to all the bandsters and for those of you like me awaiting your rebirth date as I call it remember that our day will come but until then patience is a virtue! As for the LBT I have been checking the site out for a while and I appreciate the love, support, humor and family like feel. So Kudos to all that help make that happen.

I have so many questions and concerns but.... Well my story is ... I have been overweight ALL my life and I am TIRED! I have tolarated the weight because I didn't want others to know my struggle. Yet I have allowed it to hinder me in many different areas of my life. Well now I am a single mother of a beautiful little girl name Madison and I want to give her the best of me and being this over weight and at risk for potential health problems is not my best.

I have tried all diets from a to z and nothing helps me create the true LIFE CHANGE that I NEED!!!! Although I believe that starts with in. I was initially pursuing the Gastro however I think it is a little too invasive. In addition to that I have Ins issues which maybe GOD's way of redirecting my path. Needless to say I am scheduled for the band on May 22nd 2007. I have began my pre opt things and am so excited. i just feel things are going to smooth to be true.

Anyone from Chicago and had the band done at Mercy Hospital with Dr. Banomal (SP)?

Well I am about 308 at 5ft 2in and I would like to be around the 165 range I like being thick just not unhealthy.

Therefore I will take it one day at a time...

Hey...welcome! You're right along schedule! I'm still pre-op. Waiting on Insurance approval! I'm getting my surgery done in Chicago too, at One Day Health with Dr. Myers. Good luck, if you need a buddy, shoot me an IM!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
