Need help! Pre surgery jitters!

Recommended Posts

I am actually changing jobs in 3 days: I got hired at Medical Mutual of Ohio and I know they cover bariatric surgery for their employees up to $20k. I've done almost everything they require even though I don't have their medical insurance coverage until April 1st.

My question is: when meeting with the surgeons and doing other tests and requirements, are they usually pretty flexible with the days they can make appointments? I have off on the weekends and cannot make appointments during the week unless they are in the evening. I don't get paid time off until I've been with MMO for 3 months (which is fine because I was aiming for surgery in July). This is the part that has me nervous because if they only have 9-5 hours, Monday thru Friday I'm screwed. I know each place is different. I just want reassurance that I can still make this surgery happen.

Thanks for any information!

My office was pretty flexible with appointments bit I dont think they had evening hours. Maybe if u tell your new job u have medical appointments they will let u have time off. The appointments dont last more than an hour and theres really not too many of them

Okay that helps. I just know some doctors appointments really take a long time. Thank you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
