So something kind of amazing happened today. I asked for 4 weeks off work. My doctors office said start with 4, and we could ask for more if I needed it. MetLife is notorious for only approving 4 week

  • *A non-scale victory shout out* I was walking through my house yesterday in front of my family, with my hands full and my pants fell to my ankles!!!!!! I was so happy/excited I couldn't be embarrassed

I mean those are fantastic losses! I think some of us forget how hard it was and how much slower it was losing weight pre op. How many other times in your life have you lost 20lbs in a month and kept it off? Celebrate your success you are doing wonderful.

Kristina...Thank you for saying a really nice thing. I'm not upset about what I have lost, I feel great. I just get frustrated with these stalls. I don't really feel like my dietician is helping, so I'm having to go outside to find someone else. It's difficult for me because with one of my medicines I have to eat 350 calories in order for it to be absorbed. So, I'm not sure how many I need to eat total. Am I eating too much? Not enough? I end up eating between 800-900. My dietician told me 650 max right now. Plus, I exercise pretty hard, burning anywhere from 500-700 calories. I know its not an exact science, but I wish it was!!!

I'm not ungrateful for what i have lost, and would not change anything about having had my surgery done. I just wish I understood more.

Awesome

Okay so I know some of you will understand what I'm talking about here. I went to kmart today and bought me 2 tank tops and 2 bathing suits and it was only $25! I never have bought a bathing suit for no less that $50 from the Big Big Catalog!!! Yay :)

I feel you! I've been thrift shopping and today found a new store that had clothes all for $1... Found a Talbots shirt, a Lilly Pulitzer shirt, some shorts and a few other shirts all for $10!

Hey all ! I've been gone a while , hate to be the Debbie downer but I haven't had the best of experience. I'm very pleased with my weight loss I had rny on 3/12/14 and since then I've lost 70 pounds. But it's bc I can't eat anything ! I've already had a stricture and had to have my gallbladder removed since surgery and still to this day I can't eat or drink much at all and no solid food still! I'm so discouraged I just wanna feel Simi normal again . I still puke multiple times a day, and it's a constant battle with nausea. But I try to stay positive and look at the bright side down 70 pounds & I'm happy with that. :)

Does your Dr know when you will be able to eat solids again?

Not sure I go back next week so we can talk about what's going on.

I am so sorry your experience hasn't been the best! I have had 2 strictures as well and possibly a 3rd but I am fighting that. My weightloss is much slower 39 and holding!!!!!! but I know it will come off and I am not worried-I am on track just not exercising like I should be. I am working on that-setting a goal to run a 5 k and that takes practice and training!!!! Hang in there, some of us are on a smooth track and some have the rough one-we are on the rough one but we will get on the smooth one soon! This is worth it!

I have a lot of the same issues, stricture, nausea and vomiting, etc...My surgery was 12-21 and I just feel like I am eating semi normal. What does work well for me with good protein amounts is the Quest bars from GNC . I like the vanilla almond and the coconut...not to sweet and go down easily. I lived on smoothies for a long time that I made with Greek yogurt, diet cran grape, frozen strawberries and ice. Sometimes I added a bit of protein powder if I though my stomach could handle it. I buy the plain light Cabot Greek . 20 grams a cup. I make the smoothies at night and freeze them so I can ear them like a sorbet. They were my lifesaver for many months,

You are not alone in your challenges, hang in there...it will get better :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm definitely gonna try those smoothies and the bars I have to try something.

Anyone have any "NSV" to share? I've noticed lately people sit next to me on the bus, they would always avoid me in the past! Kinda miss that ..hahaha
