Post Op March 2014

I just had my surgery on the 10th and I feel so full under my ribs when I drink, is this normal or gas? I hope we March peeps and other veterans can support each other. This app is a Godsend!

So something kind of amazing happened today. I asked for 4 weeks off work. My doctors office said start with 4, and we could ask for more if I needed it. MetLife is notorious for only approving 4 week

  • *A non-scale victory shout out* I was walking through my house yesterday in front of my family, with my hands full and my pants fell to my ankles!!!!!! I was so happy/excited I couldn't be embarrassed

Blue can I borrow some of that hair?!?

. Sure thing...for a small fee!

I'm going to six flags today! I'm so excited and I'm down almost 70lbs so I'm fairly confident I'm going to fit into everything. I'm actually down almost 85lbs from last time I was here.

Unfortunately I've got a sinus infection and some bronchitis brewing in my lungs but it's mild so far. I was sitting up in bed sipping some tea and my husband said "are you hungry" I said "no, I just took two DayQuil so I'm pretty fully right now" lol At least I can make myself laugh.

Oh yeah, my hair is failing out like crazy. It has been for almost a month. (March 3rd surgery). Right now it's just more manageable because it was so thick before, but I'm starting to get worried about what it's going to look like in another month.

Here's some updated pics. Before was Christmas Eve 2013 at the hospital when my nephew decided to make his early debut and after were yesterday at a Braves game.

Mine stopped falling out after about 4-5 weeks. Mine is thick too and no one else even noticed. Keep in the Vitamins and Protein and it will be fine.

You look great, congratulations on your success.:)

I'm shedding but I have a lot of hair and I have been taking Biotin since pre op so I don't think anyone can tell. Other than the long wavy hair all over my clothes! I try to brush it out at night so I can get it all out at once instead of shedding all over but it doesn't seem to work. Kind of like with my dog. I use a furminator on her and think I'm getting all the fur and there are still hair balls on the floor! ha.

Hi all, tomorrow morning I will have a scope to dilate where the stomach and the intestines are now connected. I have not been able to br ogress to regular foods because most everything puréed I up chuck. The barium swallow revealed it is to tight at this connection. I am a little worried my food will go right through after dilation. Therefore, I will be hungry cause it goes through smoothly. Anyone heard of this? Any thoughts? Please pray IV goes in on 1st stick. This place has the hardest time with me and I have not been able to get the recommended liquid intake. Thanks Everyone!!

I've already had a dilation done and I'm about to have to get another bc I still can't eat solid food . My surgery was 3/12/14 . I still throw up everything I eat now it's to the point the smell of food makes me sick I live off yogurt and breakfast essentials. I've had a not so good experience with surgery but great weightloss :) but don't worry it won't be much different.

That's just horrible! I would hate to go through this twice. My rny experience has been amazing until puréed foods.

What state do you live in?

Aww boo! I love South Carolina, but it's not my Texas:) would have loved to have a buddy here. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. I have to be there at 8.

Wish you ladies well, sorry things haven't gone smoothly for you, but I'm sure things will work out in the end.

Also, keep me in your thoughts, having hip replacement surgery in the morning. :-(
