I agree I think it's trial and error. Water has nothing in it and now at three weeks out its giving me fits. It has to be very warm water. But yet and still I can drink my Protein Shakes with cold milk and ice. Weird.

High sugar and high fat are usually the culprits, but everyone is different. What might agree with you may not agree with me or someone else. So yes, it is trial and error.

Having said that Water and Protein intake are crucial to our health, so if you are having problems with this I would speak to your dietitian about it.

Good luck, Ruth

@@RuthFour Thankfully getting all my Protein in has not been a problem but I did decide to call the dietitian today about the Water. Maybe she'll have other ideas beside crystal light, caffeine free tea and drinking warm Water.

I'm looking into transferring hospitals. Hamilton's wait times are getting ridiculous- over 8 months between appointments. I'm thinking of transferring to Toronto Western. Anyone get their surgeries there recently? If so, can u give me a timeline from orientation to your surgery? Thks.

Toronto western bariatric team in my opinion is amazing! Usually 6 months from orientation to surgery granted if you don't have major issues that need to be addressed prior to surgery. When doing testing that need to be sent into the team i suggest you stay on top of it and if you can get copies and fax them in yourself. I had a doctor not send in information because it didn't have the name a a specific doctor to send into and their office policy is that they don't release patient info unless it's to a specific doctor. So i got my files and sent them in myself. But ya best team I've ever delt with! Very supportive and caring

Hello everyone. Feels like I haven't been on here in forever. Hope you're all doing well and adjusting for those who have recently had surgery. And for those who are in the pre-op process, hope the process is coming along. I've been doing very good, adjusting and can eat just about most things. I've thrown up once and had dumping syndrome only 1x as well. Still hard getting in my Water but a whole lot better than right after surgery. My Protein intake is excellent and after being 79 days post-op I'm down 70lbs! It hasn't been easy but its been worth every minute.

Thanks so much for the reply and the advice. I'll call Hamilton to transfer then because being into the process already, hopefully Toronto Western can put me through sooner than 6 months! Hey, that'd be sooner than my next Hamilton appointment so I'll take it!

And thanks for the suggestion about sending the documents myself. I will ask my doctor for copies of all my tests then. I didn't even realize sending them myself was an option. Great advice! I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to respond. I've been feeling so frustrated.

Quick question for anyone post op:

How rapidly did you lose weight? I am a little spooked. I am down 12lbs and I am 5 days post op. It just seems really fast. I am not complaining, just a bit bewildered.

One thing I am finding is drinking most things even slowly, I feel like I have a bubble in my chest for about 5-10 seconds. Knorr chicken broth has been a godsend.

@@Calgirl26 I'm 79 days post-op and down 70lbs. Don't be too alarmed. In regards to the fluids I had the same problem within the first couple weeks. May be a gas bubble ? Good luck on your journey!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
