Hello fellow sleevers,

March 5th will be my 5 month mark and I've lost 78 pounds so far. I've been the same weight for almost 3 weeks now and feeling VERY discouraged. I know it's normal. I know so many have gone through it.

Also, there are days were I'm just starving and can eat WAY more than normal days where I have hardly any interest in food/eating.

I know I will have to work hard to get these last 80 pounds off, but I feel I'm losing some momentum and can't afford to be in this place right now.

I just moved, am newly married, searching for a new doc and NUT here in NY and looking to change careers. So many changes at the same time as trying to adjust to my new life and tiny stomach.

I know I can do it, but feeling really down about it now.

I feel ya. I'm a month ahead if you. Some days my head says to eat "junk" so I slip a little. Some days I can eat fine, other days I can't. I don't have advice other than we are gonna get through it but I feel like you do

Again, I'll mention what I do whenever I stall…..I actually eat MORE! Healthy and calorie conscious of course, such as more Protein (lean meat), Protein shake, salad, etc., but I eat 5 meals instead of 3 and so far this has gotten me out of 3 stalls within just a couple of days. I can't say that it's scientific but it works for me but I actually got the idea from someone that posted it on this site so apparently there must be something to it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
