I am about 3 months out from my sleeve surgery and I feel like I'm super hungry this week. I have a Protein Bar in the morning, greek yogurt for a snack, a good lunch, another snack, and dinner. But this past week I feel like I keep reaching for food. I'm trying to make smart choices but those damned girl scout Cookies are in the house. I've slipped and had a few but tried to make other choices. What the hell is going on? Why do I constantly feel hungry? Has anyone else gone through this?

I have gone through some hungry stages, particularly during that horrible time of the month. It passes. If you are reaching for junk food, though, you'll need to strengthen your resolve. Remember to track EVERYTHING you put in your mouth, and maybe try a yummy Protein bar to help you get through your desire for sweets.Best of luck!

I'm 3 months out and going through the same thing. I have increased my exercise lately and maybe that's the cause. I have hear that the sleeve relaxes a little at 3 months as it is fully healed. How many calories are you getting in per day? I try to stay at 800, but the last few days its been trying to creep to 1000 (TOM).

3 months is when I started adding more veggies back in and that helped me. Still couldn't do salad or raw until 4 months and beyond.

I don't count my calories as my surgeon and nutritionist wanted me to focus on Protein and ensuring I get 60 grams or more per day. I'm feeling a little less hungry now so I think it may have just been a phase or perhaps my cycle coming around again. Thanks for all of the advice!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
