I feel like the scale is lying to me!

Recommended Posts

Okay so according to the scale this morning I'm 2.7 away from my first short term goal of -25 lbs. I have been stuck in the 230s for what feels like forever! Yesterday I saw 231.0 but it was midday and I had already eaten. Today I just woke up and haven't eaten yet... I weighed at 227.6! Awesome! And yes I weigh almost every day... Don't judge, you know you do it too! It helps me keep on track. Anyways... I think it's lying to me! I haven't seen this weight since pre-pregnancy with my angel which was 2 years ago! Idk

thanks! At the end of the day I go by the scale because I know the certain weight I want to be. That's just what works for me. It keeps me in check to weigh almost every day. I don't get discouraged I just use it as I guide. My clothes are fitting much nicer now too! But years ago when I lost weight I had a hard time serif that and believing the smaller sizes because I still saw myself as fat when I totally wasn't! The number on the scale tells me it's working because I can't see it on myself. Idk it's weird lol. I know it fluctuates though so I absolutely take that into consideration :)

CG is right about the scales, and yes many of us, me included are scale addicts. I'm doing a march challenge with hubby which includes but is not limited to weekly measurements and weights and no more frequently. What I'm already discovering is I'm getting as excited as a kid at Christmas to see the end results. What I find about weighing everyday is I tend to reward myself (with food) when I do well and punish myself (with food) when I don't. THAT is the cycle that got me where I am and that I need to break. I bought myself a pair of nice jeans in the next smaller size. I can get them zipped but they are way to tight to be comfortable. That is my end of March goal. I also have the measurements to look at instead of the weight. I feel kind of like I'm detoxing. I have my weight goals, I'm just trying to out other goals into play. I think they will be a lot more rewarding.

I too use the scale as my enemy or my best friend :). If I don't see the scale move as I expect it to I get disappointed .. And yes thoughts of setting comes to mind which I have to control. There are pluses and minuses with writhing often. However, to each his own. What works for one, does not work for another. The best way to weigh yourself is being consistency.. Right when. U get up in the morning , before u have something to eat or drink, and with no clothes on. Weighing at different times of the day ...your wright fluctuates during the day. What I would caution someone is weighing multiple times during the day.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
