Sarah Jane,

I'm home, got home late this afternoon. How about you? I can barley eat anything. They gave me some broth and Jello in the hospital and even that was hard to eat.

Sarah Jane,

I'm still at the hospital. I decided to stay one more night because it hurts bad after taking my half ounce waters in 3-4 sips. And I haven't been able to pass gas or poop. Hah. The gas pains are soooooo uncomfortable. Waaahhh. Hah.

But other than those 2 things, I'm actually doing really good. Just wish I could have a couple good farts. Bahahahah.

I'm doing great! Today was the first day since Sunday that I had a real lazy day, and only just showered at 8 30 pm. Haha. But it's been a lot easier than I anticipated.

Hope everyone is as lucky as me and having it as easy. :)

Happy to hear that, Sarahjane79, My first week was the easiest of all for which I am grateful. A rough beginning would suck!

Remember, lazy days will be happening frequently for a bit of time due to your body screaming for food that it's no longer going to get. Yay for jammy days!

Yeah, today was a great jammies day. I my dvr has been really full (I pretty much slept all weekend due to the pain meds and been out doing stuff Monday and yesterday) so it's been nice to clear it off to make room for more stuff. Haha.

I'm glad to hear it's going easy for you too!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
