Feeling Frustrated

Recommended Posts

I'm just under 9 months post-op, down about 95 pounds and I feel stuck. The pounds seem to be holding on for dear life. I'll lose one, then regain it. I was at 209 the last I checked a few days ago, but I've hid my scale from myself because I was becoming so stressed out. I'm sure part of it is because I really want to (finally) reach the 100's and to be able to say I've lost 100 pounds, and I'm so close. I've been trying to stay on track with my food--keeping a food diary, chosing high protein/low carb choices, and drinking Water. I guess the fact that my weight loss is beginning to slow down scares me. I've been so used to comfortably losing approximately 10 pounds a month, but now it's more like 5 since the beginning of January.

You're gonna get plenty of feedback on solutions for the stall............but what I need to know is........Exactly how do you hide your scale from yourself??? This one has got me really stumped........

I push it under my bed far enough that I can't get to it easily, to lessen the temptation.

95 lbs is a lot of weight in just 9 short months so you should be very proud of yourself. I am impressed. Be patient and the rest will come off. You have done an awesome job so far so I know you will continue to do a good job.

Thank you. I'm not trying to sound petty or unappreciative of the progress I've made so far. If that's how it comes off as, that wasn't my intention. I know how far I've come is something to be thankful for and be proud of. I felt I needed to vent to people who understood the struggle and what this lifestyle is like, because most people in my life wouldn't understand. I've considered the fact that this may be the end of the honeymoon phase--and I knew it would come eventually. But it's still scary and new to me. And when I'm so close to a major goal, it makes it even more rattling.

Your not sounding petty, your sounding discouraged and scared. And that is exactly how it came across. No worries there. It is just that as long as it is going down. Then it is a positive thing.

I do understand how scary it all can be. I rely a lot on this forum to help me with the things that I am unsure of or need reassurance. That is all we are trying to say.

Don't worry...Your doing great!!!!! Too much pressure on yourself can cause other problems you know.

And i understand the I can taste it thing too...what special little thing are you going to do for yourself to mark that achievement?

Dear Cait

I just want to say don't give up, don't lose heart, and don't let it get you down. It must be so frustrating, give yourself time to make progress and be kind and patient with yourself in the way.

I wish I was postop. I am stressed about being stuck preop! I'm waiting for a date for revision surgery and feeling frustrated and demoralised. I so want to get a chance to turn things around with a sleeve.

I want to wish you good luck and good health and that you get your good weightloss over time.

kind regards

Betty

Yea,

Today I started back on my favorite shakes. I have been off them for a while. I know it so back to basics I'm going. This is only my opinion and I direct this at my self only.

I'm too hoping to get back on track.

Soon to be 1 year out. From a 22/24

To a 8/10. Im Celebrating.

My blood pressure was 170/100 was in the E.R. for it , now it's 100/70. I'm Celebrating. Name things you can Celebrate too. It takes the focus off the scale. I understand how you feel.

I congratulate you on your progress.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
