Pre op diet

Hi I am in day 4 of my pre op diet. I am scheduled feb 10th for my gastric sleeve. I am wondering if there are some filling recipes anyone has found for the pre op. I'm starving!

What I learned 2 months ago prior to surgery is that it is feast or famine with the surgeons for everyone here, either you eat normally, that is no diet, eat moderately, or eat sparingly with much res

Shaylove, go read the encouragement needed thread. Yes, you can do this. I'm on day 11 and haven't snapped and roasted my dog for dinner yet. If I can do this so can you

Will do... Thanks!

Will do... Thanks!

You did not go through everything you have to weaken now. You're stronger than this pre-op diet. I've read your journey as you posted. You got this.

Thank you! It's the feeling weak and headaches I can't take

its good to vent here, we all understand! I didn't think I could do it, but I did. And in my life there have been very little food related victories ;) Think about how much safer you will be in surgery if you follow the diet. Cheating could endanger your life.

Stay on your pre op diet we don't want any member to lose course on this. Just think how grateful you'll be once you step through the different food stages. You can and will stay strong. You have all our support you are not alone with this.

I feel your pain Shaylove. Today was a very bad day for me. I'm now 4 days post-op and I wanna strangle someone for a little bit of real food.

My family had a cook out tonight! Steak, chicken, sausage... Etc... And then there was me with a protein shake. I was mad on the inside! Plus I don't FEEL any different. I can easily drink a coffee mug full of broth. I'm terrified that when I get on reg foods that ill be able to eat just as much as I could before. I have not yet experienced "full".

Ahh man that had to be like torture!!! Good job not giving in tho!! I have the same thought about not really feeling full and still eating as much as I used to. Just gotta hope the surgery does what it's supposed to to limit the food intake.

Once you get on real foods you will def feel that full feeling. I ate 3 shrimp tonight and was stuffed!

How far post-op are you Amanda?

I hope so! I did put a piece of steak in my mouth and sucked the juice out and spit the meat out.... It was sooooooo good!

Omg! I'm so sorry sweety. You'll get through this. Just remember one day at a time and if that doesn't work, then one hr at a time. (((Hugs)))

: ) it's just hard for me to watch my husband having to do EVERYTHING when I feel like I can do something but clearly all I can do right now is get my walking in. Anything more wears me out really bad.

I know. You have limitations. On calories... Bc you're not getting them in to fuel your body, you're gonna wear yourself out. Plus you're not supposed to lift etc. day by day. It'll be hard, but the more you're able to take in the better it'll be. If you can, mix your unflavored protein powder in with powerade zero or your other fluids.
