Question about 2 week liquid diet

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am on a 2 week liquid diet and my surgery is on Monday. Anyway, not to get too personal but I'm just at the end of my time of the month....Also, my liquid diet is only whey Protein (1-2shakes a day for 170 calories each) sf pudding, sf Jello, light Soup broth, light creamy soup broth strained etc. I just go on the scale and I'm only down 1 pound and I'm freakiing out....I was hoping for atleast 8lbs. does anyone have any insight?? Oh and I have not cheated at all. my caloric intake daily is 750. This lack of losing is making me scared that maybe my body just holds onto my fat and I won't lose with the sleeve.....HELP

It's probably due to TOM. I'm guessing the scale will go down after it's over.

^^ She said it's almost over so, she'll probably get a swoosh on the scale after that.

Oh.. Duh. I totally missed that! I just started mine and I have lost 9 lbs hope its more like 14 since I usually retain 5 lbs of Water although I do not feel the least bit bloated on this pre op diet. I am ravished though. :/

:) Losing 9 lbs during your cycle is GREAT!

You'll be fine - your body is going thru a lot...your time of the month and drastically cutting down on calories.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of Water and following your plan. You're going to do great. Don't panic - that could lead to bad decisions or going off plan.

You're body is going to lose at it's own pace - you can only control what you put in your mouth.

Same here y'all. I'm cramping like no other so it's gonna be here any day and I start pre-op in 4 days.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
