An 2 weeks out and find I get dizzy with exertion. I had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as the sleeve. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. Not sure if it is dehydration ( it's hard to get all the Water in) or lack of calories ( I get about 600 a day)

Can I ask you a question? Did you have to go on liquid diet first?

I'm betting on dehydration. Especially if your dizziness occurs when you first stand up.

I was dizzy and such for a while and now it is slight. I had a B1 defeniciency. They had me do blood work before my second visit. I still having issues but it is better. I havr not been able to start exercising because of this. The other day I fell as a result. Now all I want to do is sleep. I am tired all the time.

I had dizziness and lightheadedness also. I lost about 50 lbs 3 weeks before and 3 weeks after the surgery. My surgeon said it was almost certainly due to low blood pressure (it was low when I went in for my post surgery follow up). He sent me to my doc the next day and I had my BP medication reduced and I haven't had any dizziness since.

Get some G2 and mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and sip it until it is gone...If you start to feel better you were dehydrated..And it would be good if you did this on a daily basis to keep your electrolytes up. i am 14 months out and still drink G2 every day for this reason....K

I was dizzy for several weeks after the surgery..but it subsided as time went on. We had major surgery and our bodies need to heel . Check your blood pressure several times during the day. I usually got dizzy when I rose from a laying position. Also, I could hardly drink Water for weeks after the surgery. That was also a factor,

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
