March 18!

I love my Protein shake - Numedica Slim Fit. All natural, sweetened with stevia, dutch chocolate. 26g Protein

To prep for surgery: I've lined up a family member for the dog to stay with for a week. A dog walker for the second week. I'm deep cleaning my house and will do so again when the date is closer. I'm making homemade stocks so I don't have to use bouillon, and freezing them. I'm making my friends and family aware of what I'm to expect afterwards so they know how to be of assistance to me. I've lined up friends/family to come by each day I'm out of work since my husband will only be off of work the days I'm in hospital. I have help coming over for 2weeks!

That is great, I wish I am as prepared as you are. My date is 3-10, so I better get on it.

Me too! I'm scheduled for 3/3. I'm 7 days into my liquid diet... already down 10 pounds! Starting to get really nervous about the recovery & when I can eat something other than Protein Drinks. Anyone else super grumpy and tired on this liquid diet? I hope my husband is still talking to me by my surgery date. Jk.

My surgery is 3/5 and I'm 6 days into pre-op. The first two days I was super cranky and had to apologize to my husband and kids about a billion times. I'm doing better now but I am sooo ready to go ahead and have surgery. This last week and a half is dragging.

My surgery is March 24th.

Right now my main focus is finding some Protein powders that I like. I don't want any with artificial sweeteners or a strong Stevia taste. This limits the choice greatly, but I've found a lot to try. Whole foods was the one place that had a great selection of one use packets. Plus, they have a great return policy. If I do buy a whole tub of something that tastes good to me before surgery and after surgery i no longer like it (everyone talks about how their taste buds change) they said that you can return it, no problem (even if it's open/used) as long as you have your receipt!

I have bought some small dishes, utensils and a divided baby plate that keeps food warm (because we will have to eat so slowly, it will go cold.)

I haven't been on any kind of pre op diet yet so for the next 2 weeks I'm going to work on eating healthy small amounts, practice eating with out liquids (to me, bar far the hardest part of this whole thing), practice eating extremely slow and chewing my food really well. Then in 2 weeks I have to go on a 2 week pre-op diet. The exact details of which I have not found out yet.

I am also working on a motivational board of photos to look at as I go through the more difficult parts of this journey. It will have pictures of things I want to do a lot more of when I'm lighter like golf and swimming as well as photos of healthy looking women at a goal size I'd like to be and of course some pics of cute fashions I will finally be able to think about wearing. The day I can't shop at Lane Bryant because I'm too small to fit in the clothes, is a day I will greatly celebrate!!!!!!

Very excited about the opportunity to get this life changing tool!

The two week pre-op diet is the only part I'm truly scared of. I've read a lot of people saying that it's the worst part of this whole thing!

Such a great idea to make your own Soup stocks! I want to do that now.

Yes! As long as you strain them, no chunks of anything - it's "clear liquid". Going to use them when im on 10 day liquid. I even have my friends offering to make some.

I am March 18th. I have tried the Chike coffee LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!. I have also tried the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Stock. It was a little salty for me when mixed with another broth. But tasted good and I'm still working with it. I add a Decaf Starbucks coffee pack to a vanilla Premiere Protein. (I love coffee) And that has really worked for me. I tried the Fuzzy Navel flavors Nectars and can't rave about it. I will try again and repost.

I like unjury & prescriptfit shakes. I use the vanilla in everything from iced coffee to oatmeal. I'm not a fan of broth but I did buy the Unjury Soup just for post-surgery .

However, in the summer my very favorite is Isopure Alpine Punch, when they're really cold they taste like punch Gatorade.

I get so many tips from fellow bloggers. Try to start one if you can, to record your journey, You'll be glad you did. There are so many veteran WLS bloggers who are more than happy to share their experiences.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
