Ovulation time -can't eat, green zone issue!?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was banded in April 2013 my weight loss journey has been slow and I can't seem to find a perfect green zone!!! I notice every month around ovulation time I swell up & struggle to eat anything except bad choices & mind you this is for 2 weeks out of the month! I find I can't eat eggs, meat, bread, fish...as they make me sick but I can eat ice cream or chocolates out of pure desperation !! The other 2 weeks out if the month my adjustment works perfect or to what I think is the green zone!? I can't afford to be adjusted every 2 weeks and was wanting to hear from any ladies out there with the same struggle!? I have lost about 12kilos so far & have a bit to go!! I will be seeing the doc again in a few more weeks to let them know!!! ????

my doctor said that if i am swelling to change my 3 meals to 5 small meals a day. if you can eat chocolate and ice cream you can go back to healthy liquids or mushies during you TOM. if your tom is lasting 2 weeks than may i suggest you see your GYN. periods shouldn't last that long. there are teas like parsley tea that helps with swelling. watch your sodium intake . talk with your doctor for suggestions to help you. you don't want to undo what you have worked so hard to do.

Thanks for the great advice, sorry I should have made myself a bit clearer as I start to swell up during ovulation and the swelling continues on into the follow week which is TOM a total of two straight weeks out of the month!

I no longer house the monthly visitor, though since I still have one working ovary I still have many of the pre-visit and post visit symptoms.

When those happen and I swell, and let me tell you that happens to me also when I am under stress. I don't turn to the sweets even though I am a sweetie at heart I love sugar.

Under those circumstances I go back to my basics and drink a nice chocolate Protein shake. I will add ice to it or heat it if I want something warm like hot chocolate.< /p>

I will have a Protein Bar and there are lots of them out there today that taste as good as candy bars but have high Protein content and can be a Meal Replacement for me. There are so many flavors and textures out there even cookie dough!

There is never a reason to resort back to bad foods, you can do this if you really want to it just takes a bit of effort and some substitutions.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
