Thank you all for the insight

I lost 14

I lost about 8 pounds on the pre-op diet (2 weeks). I can tell you I felt like I lost a lot more - I was surprised at the changes t my body. I lost inches.

I ate at least 1200 calories a day. I only lost 3 pounds.

Teachamy, I'm only allowed between 7-800 a day so I shoot for 750

The possibility of that is one of the few things keeping me motivated on this pre op diet. Of course the intense fear of surgery and not wanting my liver to cause them to have to open me up is the biggest motivater. I can't wait to visit my future in laws so that I can use their scale LOL (and take it back to our apartment) LOL

Everyone is different. I have lost 10 pounds in 7 days of my 14. Plus I have lost inches. I am allowed 1000 cals per day. Hang in ther even if you only lose 2 pounds.

Starting weight 364. Doc put me on 4 weeks of liquid diet. Just completed two weeks and down 30 lbs!!!! I can't believe it. If I could sustain this diet long enough I could loose all my weight. No way could I do that, however. Good luck to you. Stick to it and it will all work out.

Day 5/14 of my pre-op diet and I have lost 5 pounds. I will say, the two things that save me are SF Jello (have always liked it, even as a kid) and beef Jerky. The jerky is surprisingly low in calories compared to nutritional value (80 cal 11 grams of protein) and it makes me feel as if I am "eating" something. I am allowed 2 shakes, 1 "sensible" meal with protein/vegetables, no refined carbs and Snacks such as raw veggies, jerky, SF jello or Popsicle. I am encouraged the scale is going in the down direction and I have not placed undue stress on myself to lose "X" amount by surgery. Keep it up, your body will adjust and you may actually see a precipitous drop all at once (don't forget edema, or Water weight).

Im on day 6 and down 10lbs!!!!! Its getting easier by the day when I do get hungry I just drink my water!!!

This is day 6 for me. Can't say it's getting easier. I can only have shakes, yogurt, sf jello and pudding. I've lost about 8#. Hurry up Feb 10th!!

Everyone keeps saying that preop gets better by day 3 or 4. I'm on day 10and it is still hard. The reality that Monday is my day is kicking in. I'm so nervous I have hives today. Going to try to calm down. Good luck February sleevers.
