  2. Hi All, I am in the pre-op stage of my diet. We have to drink 3 Protein drinks per day. The one I bought was awful. What did you find tobe the best tasting? Thanks ~B
  3. We are all different. I also had my sleeve on2/3/14. I have pain (onl hen getting up from a sitting position) but do not need to rest any more than I normally did. Maybe I was alway tired. So I really dont feel differnet. I ued to nap every sat and sunday. I couls shop all day and feel great but I would need a nap as soo as I got home. I am hoping that teed for a nap will decrease with some weight loss. Keep doing what you are doing and things will fall into place.
  4. Awesome! Congrats! I can not wait to be able to shop some where other than the tent section at dicks. LOL. Way 2 go! Keep it up.

  6. Thanks everyone. I am sure it will get better soon. I have stopped taking my antacids for now. It was suggested because I have had such nausea. Maybe I will start up again tonight. I have been sleeping in my recliner. That seemed to help keep the talking tummy some what quite.
  7. I am 5 days post op and I can not sleep thru the night. I wake up every couple of hours with a talking tummy.I dont really feel hungery or anythng. I am no longer having nasuea and dry heaving. Just a talking tummy. Is this normal? did anyone else have trouble sleeping thru the night? My RN at the doctors office said this was normal. It just seems so weird to me. Thanks, B~
  8. I bought Gerber brand. It tastes ok. Baby food is a personal choice. Buy some and try it. i find it helpful when I dont have time to prepare my own. its also good to keep on had at work or in the car. Everyone is different and don't let anyone else make the choice for you.

    Pre op liquid hell

I understand. I am doing a 14 day pre-op liquid diet. I wanted to kill everyone the first 2 days. I had a headache from hell. Trust me it gets better. I am now 3 days away. My energy came back around day 5. I wanted to go to bed at 5 pm everyday. just keep it up. You will start to feel better soon. Good Luck:) B~
  14. I have been lying to myself about how over weight I was. I put that I started at 270 even tho I was 290 when I started my journey to a new me. I was so ashamed to be that heavy. I then look at the other posts and i thought I am not alone. I changed my ticker to say I started at 290. I know I will not be judged on this site. I have been so beat down about my weight. in truth I was only lying to myself. Everyone else could see that i was almost 300 pounds. My husband knew it but decided to keep his mouth shut. (smart man) Not that it mattered to him. he loves me any size or shape. He is happy that I am getting the sleeve. He has been so supportive. Thanks for letting me vent. B~
  15. I am so sorry you haven't been able to ride. I started again last year after a 15 year absence. My riding buddy is fearful that I will not be able t ride for 6 months. I hope that I can start riding again in 3 to 4 months. But you will get back in the saddle again.
  16. thank you for all the support
  17. This is great info for all of us. I went out and bought an eye mask but not ear plugs. I think I will have to get them. I aslo bought lots of sugar free Jello and pudding, sugar free drinks, and stage one baby food. I didn't buy a ton but just enough to get me thru a week. I think we will all be just fine. I was also told to bring a comfy pair of PJ's, slippers and a robe. No one wants to see this in a hospital gown I also plan on bring a good book, a laptop, and my cell phone. I hope I dont need it but just in case. We have a 3 day stay. Doc's orders. No one goes home early. But I could use the rest from the family

    Vitamin suggestions

I bought the Flinstones. I am not goona lie. They taste great and I get what I need. My pre-op team thinks that as long as you have Iron in them its ok. I tried others and I hated them too. I have a gummie calcium that I hate but you might like them . I got them at Sams club. They are almost sugar coated and do not taste like chalk. They are fuit and cream flavored. Now if I could only remember the name. I also found them at Wal-Mart. B~

  20. Everyone is different. I have lost 10 pounds in 7 days of my 14. Plus I have lost inches. I am allowed 1000 cals per day. Hang in ther even if you only lose 2 pounds.
  21. Dont let her get you down. We are on a journey. We may lose some and gain some but we know what it is like to be over weight. You will keep it off because you are a fighter, Yes, some make the wrong choices and gain it all back. The sleeve is only a tool. We make the final and most important decisions about what we eat and our exercise programs. At my center I was told 92% of the sleeves have kept all the weight off. We have support groups that we must attend. There are people 2 years out who have not gained 1 pound back. This is your journey not you NP's journey. Keep your head up

    Starting to panic

I am on day 7 of 14 of the pre-op liquid diet. The first few days were awful. Now I am ok with it, I just keep telling myself that I am in this for the long haul. I know that I will be able to eat foods that I love in moderation. Just keep going. You will be fine. I keep a large mug of my favorite surgar free drink with me at all times. When I feel hungry I take a big drink. Good Luck:)
