Any April Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for April 21st. Could have done earlier. Darn tax season. Dreading the pre-op diet more than the surgery. Mine seems more restrictive than others I've seen.

Not having seconds thoughts but my emotions go from super excited to scared to death. My biggest fears r not waking up after surgery, blood clot, and feeling like I've been hit by a train when I open my eyes in recovery. I think these r normal fears but nothings enough to keep me from getting my sleeve. Nothing scares me as much remaining in this over weight healthy state I'm in currently. Skinny vibes to u and I know u will do great with ur surgery.

Lol all the time, one day convinced no, then something reminds me why I want to do it.

What I try to keep in mind is that I know what can go wrong but I'm not going to let fear of the unknown or maybes stop me starting this adventure and opportunity pass me by.

Hold the faith and push thru.

Curvy what are your stats ? I can totally relate to the worry about "being hit by a train". I don't have the luxury of taking a lot of time off, so I need to hit the ground running! I have heard the surgery to remove and clean up after Lapband and then do sleeve is quite extensive.... Holy moly, that scares me so much.....

But like everyone else I have SO many reasons to do this! Hi BMI, joints all sore , always tired, lifestyle diseases creeping up ... And I truly want to look GOOD again...:)

I'm doing preop now and its not that bad. I'm eating about 800 calories a day. Saturday my real preop kicks in and my calories will be less because I'm going to all liquid then.

I am scheduled for April 23rd!! I have been trying different Protein shakes...I found the best tasting is Chike! I am only going to be in them the first two weeks post op so I didn't load up on them. Some say your taste changes so we will see if they still taste as good after! Hah I have to be on a three day liquid diet pre op so I will not be having an Easter this year!! Haha I am in NY and very excited! I started feb 7th at 270 and have lost 20 lbs so far. I was require to lose 10 to 15 so I'm happy I could exceed that!

Where in NY are you from? And congratulations on losing 20 so far. I haven't even weighed myself and I've been eating clean for over 2-3 weeks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
