Had surgery Nov 26th and I'm averaging around 850 calories a day now. Is this normal or am I eating too many? Rarely reaching my Protein goals, but trying very hard to eat healthy.

I was sleeved on 11/25 and had a doctor's appt today. Both the PA and the dietician said my target should be about 800. It seems like you're about right.

I was sleeved 11/27. My calories average about 800/day. Sometimes a little more if I've worked out hard and sometimes a little less. My NUT said to try to stay under 800/day.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback.

In my two months I'm down from 275 to 229. Very pleased with my weight loss so far, and I'm excited to be working out again!

I am 7 weeks out and find it hard to stay full but Im eating between 700 and 800 calories. A few times I have gone over but not many. I am down 37.5 lbs and pretty happy with that but darn! I see you are 2 months out and down 46 lbs! That's awesome!!! I probably need to exercise more.

I will say I am pretty good at getting my Protein each and every day. I hit 60 minimum but more than likely over 80 or 90. I eat at least one Protein Bar daily to get 20 in and then eat a lot of grilled chicken to get more. Ask your nut about the Protein Bar and see if you can have that to get in more Protein. They are high calorie but they give me LOTS of energy, have low sugar and the carbs aren't too bad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
