I have been doing good for a month and then today I fell into an old habit and I ate all day long. It seemed like I was abottomless pit. My son was not feeling well today so we didn't do much today. I don't know what I can do to get this behavior under control. I'm also coming off a 3 pound gain last week. Which I don't understand either. I think it's me building my muscle back from not getting hardly any Protein the first 3 weeks. Any thoughts?

Hi... see that attitude you have towards your family? Don't mess with or there'll be a price to pay? that's the same attitude you need to have towards your pouch! Before you eat food, drink Water. I remember this early stage. Your brain/head isn't connected yet to your pouch yet. It will be. Listen to your body, your habit and first reaction is to eat, but listen very closely to your body, now its a whisper, as your get further out it will YELL at you. I know, old habits, damn them. Our heads are the problem, our pouch is the solution. Listen. I know this is hard to fathom right now, but believe me when I tell you, 'This body feels better, than food tastes"!

OMGOSH! I had that same problem today. I finally was able to eat some chili (a couple of tablespoons)! I found myself tasting small bites of it all day. I was drinking a lot of Water, tea, crystal light, etc. I ate cottage cheese, fruit cups, etc. After my surgery (Dec. 19) I was not able to get that much down, Even though they are small bite I still feel I shouldn't be able to eat that much food. Somebody help me!!! :) I feel your pain!!!

Stay strong and drink that Water honey!! Take some nice walks and clear your mind....you've gone through too much to go back "there"...we all have little set backs but it's how we react to them that defines us. Go back to step 1..grab a shake and get to steppin'

You got this!!!

If you guys live in cold country watch out for "winter instinct", my term for it. My primary physician pointed it out long ago before my sleeve. The cold weather increases appetite, not sure why, maybe some instinctual need to store up or build fat layers against the cold. It has been relatively cold here in Florida, close to 32 degrees at night, 60's in the day. That was enough to step on the eating gas for me.

We must override basic instinct with our higher reasoning brains. Resist the mindless hoarding!

I am curious, were you eating Protein or something else? Focus on Water and protein. If I were you, I would try to stay busy. Clean house, read a book, paint your nails, cross stitch, etc. Eating out of boredom is an old trap that we need to avoid now. Also, winter time can make anyone feel blue because the lack of sunlight. Try to get out in the sun when you can, maybe read in a sunny window.

All is not lost because of one day. Get back to basics and take advantage of the opportunity you have been given!

Living in Canada...you do deal with the need for comfort food during the cold days of Winter...But you can take those hardy meals and make them sleeve friendly..

the problem a lot of us have is SD, because of the lack of sunshine...Vitamin D helps and it can help lift your spirits and bring you back to feeling normal instead of the blas!!!!! I hate winter and suffer because of it...I fight, fight and fight some more.....As long as you are fighting you are still alive and moving.....

Not perfect either but know I can get moving on the right path after I make a blunder and we all can!!!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
