Question for Females *Graphic content*

Hello. I'm 4 days post-op robotic bypass and also had a hysterectomy. Last night after I was discharged from the hospital and at home I was awoken by bloody leakage as if I was on my period. It has been a year since my hysterectomy and this is something new. I only had a fever once and have been ok since. My blood pressure is low but I feel fine.y surgeon said he's never heard if this and is baffled. Anyone else had these symptoms or issue. I'm feeling a little more concerned. I also had a hernia removed and don't know if that's relevant either.

It could have been urethral trauma from the catheter and not actually vaginal bleeding.

I'd call your PCP or surgeon.

Do you know where the blood came from? Could be from colon, I had some after surgery 4 days later. It was blood from them working on my intestines and normal for us to pass. Or could be from Cath, I passed some on day 2. But the important part is to have you doc do a cbc to see if this is new bleeding or old. I hear so many having complications and their doc should have done a simple blood test to check for new bleeding and infection. A cbc will tell them that. Also watch your heart rate isn't over 120. I too have had a hysterectomy and any type of vaginal bleeding is not normal but I am not sure that's where it's coming from. Stay in touch

Ok ladies, THANK YOU very much for the insight and input. The bleeding slowed and is now a light spotting. It's not the rectal and from catheter. It is vaginal bleeding but is believed that it could have possibly been a Cyst that rupture. I'm to monitor and a home care nurse will be visiting me. If it worsens I'm to go to the ER.

I thank you so much and appreciate the advice/enlightenment :)

Thus, I'd thought I'd do my own research and help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
