I weigh everyday that I am at home. So lately it is everyday. Once I go back to work, it will be only Fridays - Sundays. I think it helps for motivation and correction if things start to get off track.

We have all been through weight loss so many times that we understand that weight fluctuates because of many things, so I will just need to keep this in mind when things go in the wrong direction.

I try to weigh once a week and no more. So I don't see the fluctuations. I record it and move on. Sometimes I have to fight with myself not to get on it more.

I had my sleeve on a Tuesday, and I weigh myself every Tuesday. Everybody is different. I don't mind seeing the fluctuations. I'm aware when my body is retaining Water due to my auntie's monthly visit. I always see a stall at that time. But it helps me keep myself on track. The stalls don't really bother me. I have yet to have one that lasts too long and I know to expect them. I'm happy as long as I see small fluctuations and an overall viewing of my weight dropping.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
