I am also a satisfied user of the "U" tampons. They cost a little more but they're worth it. Other applicators pinch my lady parts (ouch!) but these don't. Highly recommended! :)

I will say that as I have lost weight my period is a lot more contained, if that makes sene - less mess on my underwear or sheets. Such a relief!

My periods seem to be worse with the 100+ weight loss. I have never tried tampons but will look for the U by Kotex and will hopefully get some relief from the messy mess. Thanks for sharing Nurse.

I've never really been able to insert a tampon, and the times I tried, I swear I was like playing twister or something, had to put one leg in the air, reach over, under, etc. I HATE wearing pads with a passion. So, its good to know it's a possibity the process to go through will get easier.

Laughing at the visual twister reference! It will get better!

I too will try the U by Kotex to see if I can insert easier. Also for those that still need pads. I will recommend cloth pads. They are wonderful. Yes you do have to wash them but really it’s no worse than dealing with the disposable. I have also noticed that my periods are lighter and shorter in duration. Probably lack of chemicals and hormones in plastic. Go to Saucytots.com. HOPE is the seemstress and you can ask her to make you pads as long as you need. I use 18 inch pads and ask for dark patterns. (No stain issues, throw right into washer and dryer) they run about a dollar an inch. I bought about 5 to start and added a few more so I didn’t have to wash them but once. Also get a nice wet/dry bag. Makes it easy. I also recommend this link and Brione has many other videos to answer questions and solve problems.

I forgot to also mention a product called a lip liner. It’s basically a cloth pad but is small and intended to be placed between the labia to absorb and also control the direction of the flow. it may perhaps make it so you don’t have to double the dosposanle pads to get a longer length. I personally had as much trouble placing them as I did with the tampon and it irritated me to have something folded in there. But it might work well for others.

For those with heavy flows, you may want to consider a menstrual cup. https://menstrualcupreviews.net

I’ve been using a menstrual cup for about two years, best switch I ever made. Great for heavy periods.

I've never trouble using a tampon even at 400lbs but I've on and off started using a Diva Cup just so I don't have to change it as much and I actually have to lay down on my bed to get it in

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
