Lots of questions! Lol

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! Im trying to find more answers to all my questions and this seems to be the perfect place :) I guess first of all I am curious to know if anyone here is from Michigan and or has blue care insurance. I have heard many different stories from people I know about the requirements and everything leading up to qualifying for the surgery. I just got switched to blue care network from priority health and have to select a new Dr. I was curious if anyone had one they would recommend. Thank you!

Sorry, i'm not from Michigan. I do know that every surgeon and insurance company has different requirements. Search around for a surgeon you're comfortable with and do your research on them. Good luck to you!

I have the same insurance and I am in Michigan my blue care network covers 100 % of my surgery but they require a 6 month supervised weight management with your primary doctor .

Mine says that it covers 50% coinsurance after deductible is met.

How easy was it for you both to breach the wls topic with your Dr.? Were they supportive or did they think it was the "easy way"? How long did you have to talk about it before it became a possibility?

My doctor was very supportive , how ever they were slow in probing all the documentations, I am glad that's tomorrow's my last visit is tomorrow but they are excited that I will be healthier and will Bo off all medications .

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
